But we cant hold onto the strength from our core
Because we expect to be reminded of just how beautiful we are
When we shouldnt have to be
I miss yous arent the same when theres not thought behind the words
So we scream our words incase you didnt hear
Sincerity comes from the whispers in the dark
Not from great crescendos
If we can walk on fire then we can break the wall down
Thats stopping us from reaching our creation
That was once the love in our eyes
If we can burn our fears, then we can encompass our dreams
But fires always burn out anyway
We just pray that this strength will stay
This wet grass will stain our clothes
But it reminds us that not everything washes away
Heart shaped rocks deep in the mud dont lie
Quite as deep as the root of our fears
If happiness is my backbone then you fill my blood
With a poison Im not ready to shake yet
If you can look me in the eyes and tell me
You didnt write on my skin
Youll ask, How should I be reminded of
Just how beautiful I am?
We expect to be reminded of just how immaculate we are
But the truth is that we shouldnt have to be
If we can walk on fire then we can break down the wall
If we can burn our fears then we can stop the recurring nightmare
I pray that well be lucid for just one night of dreaming
So you can see your potential
Fires always burn out
Just know that your strength will stay.
